Medtech+Mindset hopes everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday and is ready for the home stretch to close out 2022!

In the spirit of the holidays my son Jackson Tucker and I are supporting Facing Forward to End Homelessness this week.

Our fundraiser page is here:

We've been working hard to keep our content free, but this is the one time of year I'd ask you consider supporting a cause that's important.

Thanks, Matt Tucker

1.  Medtech+Mindset is excited to announce the launch of two programs from our sister communities - CreateNext and Career Attraction.

Insight from Matt Tucker

If you're like me, I've had many different periods of time when I've wanted much more out of my career.

CreateNext and Career Attraction offer two amazing opportunities for you.  I personally have participated in both, and our co-founder @kevinkermes and I have retooled, upgraded, and amplified these programs.

The first option is an on-demand webcast called:

"Success without Compromise: How to Raise Your income, Accelerate Your Career and Avoid Dissatisfaction Without Giving Up What's Most Important to You"

It's for you if:

  • You're not concerned about finding another role, but you're underwhelmed by your current position and what you're seeing in the market?
  • Frustrated at seeing less talented peers get promoted ahead of you?
  • Feeling a sense of "is this it?"
  • Ready to start prioritizing your happiness and relationships while advancing your compensation, wealth, and career?

Alternatively, join us on Wednesday at 12pmET for:

"How to Land a 6-Figure Job You Love Without Relying on Resumes, Outdated Networking, Recruiters or Online HR Applications"

It's for you if:

  • Your in the midst of a job search and concerned because you cannot land interviews?
  • Or you're landing the interviews but they never seem to move forward?
  • Maybe you're starting to feel as if you might never find your next role?

If you're looking to level up...either in a traditional way, or looking for something out of the box, I hope you join us.

2. Finish the year strong and achieve your goals to lock in a successful year.

Insight from Matt Tucker

It's the last few weeks of the year, and if you're like many people, you may be feeling a mix of emotions. You may be feeling some relief that the year is coming to an end, especially if it's been a tough one. But you may also be feeling a bit of sadness or regret, especially if you don't feel like you've accomplished all of your goals.

Don't worry - you're not alone. According to a study by the University of Scranton, only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year's resolutions. But that doesn't mean you can't still close out the year strong and achieve your goals. Here are a few tips:

1. Set realistic goals.

Don't set yourself up for failure by setting unrealistic goals for the end of the year. If you need to, break your goals down into smaller steps so that they're more achievable.

2. Make a plan.

Once you have your goals set, make a plan for how you're going to achieve them. This may include setting deadlines and determining what steps you need to take to reach your goal.

3. Stay motivated.

One of the biggest challenges in achieving goals is staying motivated throughout the process. Make sure to set milestones along the way to help keep you on track and celebrate your accomplishments once you reach them.

4. Ask for help.

If you need help reaching your goals, don't be afraid to ask for it. There are plenty of resources available both online and in person, so don't hesitate to seek them out.

Close out your year strong. There's no need to wait for the new year to gain momentum for the new year.

3. Early stage medical product companies should develop different types of medical opinion leaders

Insight from Matt Tucker

Many people make the mistake of treating all key opinion leaders the same. This is a problem that inhibits key opinion leaders to be utilized for the greatest benefit to the company, but also results in burnout causing the clinicians to disengage or decide to terminate a relationship with you entirely.

It also creates confusion with brands and leaders because of overlap which muddies the waters.  You're not able to focus on getting the most out of the relationship, it also creates a mismatch between their interest and expertise and what answers you need to make the most of your brand.

Some questions you can ask:

  •  What behavioral segment is a particular and potential key opinion leader in?
  • Are they an early adopter, a conservative practitioner, or a traditionalist who is likely to never adopt new products?
  • Where does their greatest interest lie?
  • How interested in the treatment of a particular condition or disease are they
  • Have they published on this condition or disease state?
  • Do they conduct clinical trials, or are involved in the generation of other real-world evidence?
  • Are they mainly concerned about patient outcomes, their own efficiency, or the economics of healthcare?
  • Do they like to speak to colleagues about the disease state or document their opinions in journals or other periodicals?
  • Would the doctor be credible and engaging in front of a crowd of peers?
  • Are they business savvy, or mainly academic?

Don't be lazy.  Recruit different types of clinicians for different purposes; and use them appropriately.
